Love is...(from the mouths of babes)

Danny - age 7

"Love is when Mummy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken."
Elaine-age 5

"When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth."
Billy - age 4

"Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs."
Chrissy - age 6

"Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. "
Emily - age 8

"When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you."
Karen - age 7

"You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget."

It's amazing that such young children seem to have insight beyond their years, but adults often forget those little things that they seem to be so aware of.

Great post!

J.D. Yes, the little ones see things so simply! One of the sadnesses of my teaching job is the loss of innocence that I see each year!

Lori, I like sweet, simple things. I also love that feeling in our family when we know the presents are just extra and that the true gift is the time and love that we share!

Hey Lady,
Thanks for such a sweet reminder of what is important in life!

I missed you!!!

Hope all is well with you and yours. We've been fighting off numerous bugs, and just feeling sick and tired of being sick and tired! Thanks for making me smile.

Wow! I have read some of the best books on "Love" and not come away with the wisdom of these kids. I am sure my wife loves me, but I doubt she would give up her favorite peace of chicken. I to like the last one. Fantastic!
Thanks for the visit and this great blog, Oregoncelticlady.
