"It is a moment of light surrounded on all sides of darkness and oblivion. In the entire history of the universe, let alone in your own history, there has never been another just like it and there will never be another just like it again. It is the point to which all your yesterdays have been leading since the hour of your birth. If you were aware of how precious it is, you would hardly live through it. Unless you are aware of how precious it is, you can hardly be said to be living at all. 'This is the day which the Lord has made,' says the 118th Psalm. 'Let us rejoice and be glad in it.' or weep and be sad in it for that matter. The point is to see it for what it is because it will be gone before you know it! If you waste it, it is your life that you are wasting. If you look the other way, it maybe the moment you've been waiting for always that you are missing. All other days have either disappeared into darkness and oblivion, or have yet to emerge from it. Today is the ONLY day there is." Whistling in the Dark

Enjoy the holidays, my dear friends! Remember the everyday gifts in your lives and experience today to the fullest! (Wings: ONLY today! =)

Yes....and having died once, it makes my remaining days really precious.
God's gifts are manifest in the small things....the joys of a child's giggle, the pleasant ache in muscles after a good days work. Though it helps to always remember that God is Nature, and Nature is red in tooth and claw.

Life is particularly beautiful for me these days...maybe it is the snow blanketing the undone gardening projects, or the bright nights which are lit by the moon so much more brightly when all the snow is reflecting everything.

Hope you are enjoying the weather out there on the Left Coast. I found it to be a bit drizzly and I got all mopey from the constant rain when I lived there, but on the other hand...I never had to shovel it.
